A nutritionist is only a certified nutrition coach. An individual can attain the certification through organizations such as the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and Precision Nutrition (PN), among many other organizations. To become a registered dietitian (RD), an individual would need to achieve a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, a master’s degree, go through an accredited Dietetic Internship, and finally pass the RD exam. More information on how to become a registered dietitian can be found here. With this being said, I am not a registered dietitian, I am only a certified nutrition coach. However, I am on the path to achieving my registered dietitian accreditation, as I have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition – Dietetics, and will be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition starting the Fall of 2022.
